Week One!
Hola!
My first week of home MTC has been great! It took a little bit of adjusting but overall it's been a good experience. Any negative emotions/experiences I had in the last week have been for my benefit and are far outweighed by the good times.
Learning spanish is so fun and so hard! I am so so grateful that I get to serve speaking another language though. Mi compaƱera is very good and so we speak in spanish probably 80% of the time we're doing our planning and study sessions. Hopefully that number just goes up! Currently we are memorizing ridiculous amounts of vocab. I've refreshed my knowledge on all of the tenses and my brain is stuffed!
Basically all I do everyday is sit at my desk, either in zoom class or studying. It's amazing that I can pay attention at all, considering it was hard to focus in my 50 minute zoom college classes last year. Miracles all ready!
My district is super awesome. In a week we all get to fly to el CCM en Mexico to be together in person! I cannot WAIT. They are so fun to talk with. Plus, there's a couple star wars fans in the group.
Spiritual thought of the week! Recently I've really thought about President Nelson's "Let God Prevail" talk, as well as Elder Uchtdorf's "God Will Do Something Unimaginable" talk. When we are in times of crisis, we can focus on what the Savior allows us to do through His atonement. We can do everything we can instead of focusing on what we can't do. I've found that when I lose motivation to study or obey, or I feel doubt and despair, the best things for me to do are study more, pray more, and be more grateful. This allows Christ to bear our burdens with us, and who doesn't want that!
