Mexicooo!
¡Hola a todos!
Sorry for no email last week. I haven't had a P-day since week two! This will maybe be a long email. I'm almost done with week four and I've had the honor of being at the Mexico City CCM (Centro de capacitación misional) for the last two weeks! Arriving in the Mexico City Airport went well. Driving out of the airport was unbelievably chaotic and colorful and I loved it. The drivers here are on another level.
There are mountains around the city and the house go halfway up the side. Its SO cool. There's little green and blue parrots all over the place too, and they're super loud. Gotta love it. The trees have bright colorful flores on them.
LANGUAGE UPDATE: I can roll my rrrrrs finally! After years of attempting and failing, within 24 hours of arriving in la ciudad de Mexico I could roll them on command. He aprendido casi todos los tenses de Español. Yo sé subjuntivo y condicional y imperfecto y todos son muy divertidos. I've learned almost all the tenses, including subjunctive! I'm so grateful for my high school language clase porque fue muy servicial. Its an honor to live in Mexico and learn the language of these amazing people, as well as teach them!
We had two general authorities come, Kevin Hamilton and Presiding Bishop Waddell. They were both super amazing, and both talked about how family history, temple work, and missionary work are related.
Speaking of the temple, I got to go to the Mexico City temple today! The building was based on Azteca architecture and I LOVED it. I loved doing a session in spanish. The Spanish language is just so beautiful and Its so fun to study and read things in Spanish. It changes your perspective when you study the scriptures in another language!
I've really come to love the history and mythology and people of Mexico. The Quetzalcóatl is fascinating to me.
Anyways this was kind of long but my spiritual thought is that teaching people the gospel of Christ is the greatest work on Earth. There's a reason thousands of teenagers pay money to leave their friends, family, school, job, hobies, coping mechanisms, movies, music, and country behind to go serve others for 18-24 months.
It truly is a joy.
ALSO I GOT HORCHATA AND IT WAS SO GOOD
